Since its founding in 1787, the College has been recognized for pioneering public health initiatives, contributing to medical research and education, and engaging leading American physicians and surgeons. Although its engagement of a diverse public audience has grown significantly over the years, the College continues to serve the medical profession through its Fellowship of 1,300 members.
