Benjamin Rush Medicinal Plant Garden Party. Enjoy an evening in
the beautiful Benjamin Rush Medicinal Plant
Garden at its seasonal peak! A talk and tour
will be provided by Dr. Clarissa Dillon. Dr.
Dillon is the author of "A Large, and Useful,
and a Grateful Field:" Eighteenth-Century
English Kitchen Gardens in Eastern Pennsylvania,
the Uses of the Plants, and Their Place in
Women's Work." She will explain the medical uses
of many of the plants in our garden and discuss
some of the myths that arose with the creation
of Colonial Revival gardens. Light refreshments
will be served.
