Mead, R.  A Discourse on the Small Pox and Measles (1748).

This edition is the first English translation of the 1747 Latin original.  It includes a translation of Rhazes' treatise on smallpox, the first known work on the subject.

Richard Mead (1673-1754), English physician, was a great proponent of inoculation.  His authority and influence as a physician to the royal family helped promote general acceptance of the procedure.
