LeClerc, C. The Compleat Surgeon (1696).
Charles Gabriel LeClerc (1644-1700?), French physician, first published this work in Paris in 1695. Eventually 18 editions were published. This is the first English translation. Important passages include descriptions of the use of vitriol buttons for checking hemorrhages and the mode of manual compression used at the Hôtel-Dieu.
