Armstrong, G.  An Essay on the Diseases Most Fatal to Infants (1771). 

One of the best pediatric works of the period.  The 1771 edition is the second; the first was published in 1767.  Armstrong is noteworthy as the founder of the first children's dispensary in Europe, the Dispensary for Sick Children, in London in 1769.  

The portion of text included discusses convulsions, which Armstrong divides into two types:  symptomatic and idiopathic.
