AUSTIN, COLLECTOR Autograph collection, 1885-1894 Scope and contents This small collection of letters was assembled by Benjamin W. Austin, often functioning as secretary of the Trinity Historical Society in Dallas, Texas, 1885-1894. The letters are from physicians, several of them eclectic or homeopathic, accepting honorary or non resident membership in the society and responding to Austin's request for autographs, photographs, and pamphlets. Austin autograph collection was purchased for the Historical Collections of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia from David J. Holmes Autographs, of Philadelphia, Pa., on 22 April 1986.
